Cultivate Confidence with Grace

We have just taken off into a new decade. Seeds of greatness have been planted in you which require you to secure your attitude to the upright and locked position. All self-destructive devices should be permanently turned off at this time. All excuses should be locked and stowed away. Should we lose altitude under pressure during this flight, reach up and pull down prayer. Prayers will automatically be activated by faith and action. Once your faith is fully activated, you can assist other passengers. There will be NO BAGGAGE ALLOWED on this flight. The God of the universe has cleared us for takeoff! Please check your daily gratitude log as you arrive at this double portion year! Welcome to Destination GREATNESS!!

Are you slamming this year with a fresh new perspective?  How can we make sure that we are connecting with people in a way that our greatness shines? Two important factors are confidence and authenticity.

Our image or energy is conveying something about us all the time, whether we realize it or not. Opinions are formed before we ever say a word, so it’s important to be sure that our image is sending the message we intended!  Our attitude, thoughts and emotions are the biggest influences of our energy and image.  At times our energy will be calm or sometimes expressively contagious.  Yet there will no doubt be other times you may not want to wear your emotions on your sleeve.

Being intentional and self-aware are key requirements to keep our attitude in the upright position for our greatness to shine and still be authentic. The following quote says it all:

“To be authentic, we must cultivate the courage to be imperfect — and vulnerable. We have to believe that we are fundamentally worthy of love and acceptance, just as we are. I’ve learned that there is no better way to invite more grace, gratitude and joy into our lives than by mindfully practicing authenticity.”— Brené Brown

Confidence is like a muscle, the more you use it the stronger it gets. When we discover our LIFEStyle energy, we can cultivate more confidence and authenticity with grace. The kind of grace that comes from understanding how we’re wired and how we use our innate energy style to negotiate relationships. We learn how others perceive us and discover our natural gifts. We learn how color affects us and how the clothing we choose aligns with our energy. That knowledge allows us to focus on our strengths without comparison, so we have more confidence with poise, strength and grace while embracing our authentic self.

Life is full of stressors and triggers that can send us into old habits and old patterns of thinking.  Yet, when we align our thinking with our innate energy, we immediately gain inner peace and appreciation for our uniqueness that allows growth.

Cultivating confidence with grace starts with some self-reflection. Here are some questions to get you thinking: What words would my colleagues, friends, or family use to describe me? To describe my image? Are they the same? Is my authenticity reflected in both arenas? Are you an energy giver or an energy drainer?  Are you a balcony person or basement person? Do you naturally have a growth mindset or a closed mindset?  Get started learning about your LIFEStyle energy by taking the short quiz found on my website.

Grow your confidence with grace according to your values, but don’t expect yourself to be perfect. Don’t compare your journey or image to anyone else. Embrace your uniqueness, showing up in the world full of life and energy, enjoying, and grateful for every minute of it!
