Lynnette Begue-Lavery’s goal is to help her clients find their inner beauty and focus on their assets to build confidence and “Soar to Success.” What sets her apart from other Image Consultants is that she starts with an energy assessment. This tool helps people discover their innate gifts, tendencies, and unique assets from which Lynnette can design a personal plan that’s just right for them. She loves the “AHA!” moments when a client understands that it’s her innate energy that drives certain behaviors. Lynnette shared with us, “Suddenly they realize, there’s nothing wrong with them; it’s such a confidence builder.”
Lynnette also offers skincare, color analysis, wardrobe consultation along with the energy assessment. Her goal is for her clients to look in the mirror and feel good about themselves, showing their confidence and allowing their inner beauty to shine to the world.
Her passion is to enrich as many lives as she can by teaching, helping and inspiring them to thrive by focusing on their gifts and positive attributes and affirming their unique image. She believes that it is always important to maintain a positive mindset and focus on our accomplishments.
How it Began
Lynnette started out her working career in finance and management, but through divine intervention and the help of various people in her life, transitioned to image consulting. She has always had a thirst for personal growth, particularly related to confidence, something she struggled with as a child. She was able to overcome the effects of the teasing and bullying she received early in her life and truly believes that if you stop growing, you are dying.
Over 20 years ago, looking for more in her life than just numbers and dollar signs, she started with skincare and color analysis. As her customer’s needs increased and evolved, her business continued to grow into the overall lifestyle energy assessment and wardrobe consultation that she employs today.
Wardrobe Consulting: “If I don’t feel great, when I put it on, it goes.”
Wardrobe consultation helps women discover better choices for their body type, in terms of clothing style, cut, fabric, and color. One of the things that Lynnette offers is a closet review. A review helps them unlock the power in their existing wardrobe by determining what works, what doesn’t and why, or what alteration could be made to make it work.
The closet review also helps her clients identify items that may be taking up space and should be discarded. Then, Lynnette creates example outfits from the pieces that she discovers in the client’s closet; sometimes things they never thought to put together.
Once done, Lynnette provides her clients with a digital book that allows them to see those outfits at their fingertips and remember, “Oh, that’s what we put with that.” Gone are the days of wondering what to wear!!
She also shares ideas of what accessories or additional clothing items could be added to make even more outfits from their existing pieces.
Shopping Excursions, Some Clients Choose to Take Lynnette with Them
Lynnette teaches her clients to not just look for the best bargain, but to find the pieces that are right for them. If it’s not right, it will just sit in the closet and the bargain wasn’t such a good deal after all.
They learn what they are looking for in terms of style, fabric and color, and they also learn to shop. Pre-work before shopping includes making an assessment of what types of items are needed to complete an outfit from pieces already owned – perhaps a scarf, some jewelry, or different top or bottom.
Customized Packages Are Available
Lynnette offers three packages, all of which can be tailored or customized. The Queen’s Package is for the woman who wants it all. The Princess Package is wardrobe consultation, including color analysis and skincare, but does not include the digital book or shopping. Finally, the Cinderella Package is for someone who wants to dip their toe in and do a little bit at a time; so it’s a slower path, but just as effective.
Personal Life
Lynnette enjoys travel, being outdoors, camping and spending time with her husband, children and twin granddaughters. She also picked up a love of home remodeling from her father, who was a carpenter and home builder.
Although Lynnette is a female through and through, she loves to do home projects. Her husband, Dan is always concerned when he sees her with a saws-all in her hands.
In a way, however, her passion for home improvement is an extension of her overall goal of wanting to beautify her surroundings.
One of the things that Lynnette is very aware of is helping her young granddaughters separate the fantasy world of television and social media from real life. She wants to assure they don’t get trapped in the Kardashian comparison game.
“It’s important to reaffirm their gifts and qualities by continually giving them positive thoughts. To be able to look in the mirror and say, “I’m beautiful.” There’s so much negative in the world it’s important to assure they hear that message, especially at home.”
Community Involvement
Lynnette also enjoys being involved with the Cleveland chapter of NAWBO, the National Association of Women Business Owners and is currently serving as the V.P. of Finance. She is also a member of the Greater Akron Chamber, and a co-facilitator for downtown meetings of the Akron KNOW which stands for, Knowledgeable Network Of Women. She is also involved in church and Christian women’s Bible study. Her strong faith is very important to her.
