Why Peers Make All The Difference In The World

Three times a year, CPU has the opportunity to share insights, break bread, and spend time with some of the smartest minds in the information technology community. It’s truly an honor to have these important people in our lives both from a business perspective, and perhaps more importantly, on a personal level. Why? Because peers make all the difference in the world when it comes to gaining new perspectives and staying ahead of client demands.

In October 2019, CPU attended our quarterly peer group meeting in the Greater Cincinnati area. Every morning, as we sat down to begin our deliberations on the trends impacting the IT community, we had the opportunity to look across the Ohio River from our hotel in Covington, KY to the Great State of Ohio (We did that for you, John Gambill at itfordd.com!)

What did we learn? A lot.

The biggest takeaway for CPU this time around was the fact that IT consulting businesses are still trying to figure out the cloud and how it’ll help their clients. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not like figuring out the cloud back in 2013 when all the techies were puzzled. Nowadays, it’s about learning how to lower the total cost of ownership without jeopardizing reliability. Ultimately, IT consulting businesses are trying to understand and sell the idea of greater efficiencies.

In this endeavor, IT consulting businesses need a partner they can trust. There’s an abundance of choices when it comes to finding a cloud provider. So how are we different from all the other MSP cloud vendors?

Sure, we can say it’s our people. We know that’s true… but who DOESN’T say that

We can also tout our horns on the investments we’ve made into security and reliability with multiple datacenters and all that technical stuff. But again, every cloud vendor is going to say the exact same thing.

So, what DOES make CPU unique in our industry?

It’s the care we bring to the table.

When working with CPU, IT service providers get to work directly with David and me.  IT companies are not treated like a number or forced to sit in long call queues with the hope and prayer that the person answering the phone knows what they’re talking about.

What sets us apart? In the simplest terms, our partners get to work directly with the people who care about their business.

Is it time for a new cloud partner?

If you’re not happy with the service you’re receiving from your cloud services partner, then pick up the phone and call CPU.  David or I will be more than happy to have a discussion with you and learn more about your IT service business.
