Being a business owner can be very difficult. Add to that being an MSP, and it gets even harder.
Believe me, I know.
Owning a technology business for 37 years has given me a lot of insight on how to be successful. One of the top things on my list? Accept help.
When I first started back in 1986, there was no internet, no sharing of information, no peer groups. We had to do everything on our own and the only way for us to learn was to learn from our mistakes.
It was painful.
Sometimes it would take years before we would realize that an idea we had was just not going to work. All the time, effort and money we spent went up in thin air. What did we do? Lesson learned. We moved on.
Fast forward to today. What’s different? Business owners can learn from the mistakes of others instead of experiencing it themselves – saving time, effort and money. All extremely valuable things as a business owner.
When we were an MSP, we got into the Cloud very early on and learned how to be successful with it. We were able to increase our Monthly Recurring Revenue by 6 figures and maintain that success.
Was it easy? No.
Did we always make money? Absolutely not.
Did we fail? Yes, several times.
Did we learn from our mistakes? Yes.
