The Holographic Life

Did you know that you live in a Holographic Universe? Let’s examine the principles of a hologram and the wonderful impact it has for your life.

Have you ever seen a hologram? All you have to do is look at your credit card to find a hologram, perhaps your bank’s logo, but always something that looks three dimensional even though it’s on a flat surface.

Holographic pictures are made with the help of a laser. If you take a holographic photograph, cut it into tiny pieces, and then shine a laser through one of the pieces, you will see the entire image.

That’s because each part of a hologram contains information about the whole. Why is this important for us to understand?

Because the principles of the hologram are directly related to how you live your life. In fact, your life is a hologram. And when you understand how that relates to you, it becomes easier to make the changes you want and need  to have a coherent, energetic life.

The first principle of a hologram that applies to your life is that each part of a hologram, no matter how small, contains information about the whole. This means that every change you make, no matter how small, impacts everything in your life. Every change, and this can be a thought, a word, an action, no matter how small, impacts everything in your life.

Dr. David Bohm, a well-respected physicist, posited over 30 years ago that we live in a holographic universe. He suggested that the universe had an underlying unity and indivisibility, and all things are infinitely connected in a seamless web. You may have heard the question, “How do you eat an elephant?” The answer? “One bite at a time.” Rephrasing this question for our example, we could ask, “How can I change my life? How can I contribute to the people around me?” The answer….  “One thought, one word, one action at a time.”

There is another aspect of a hologram that impacts us directly. In a hologram, not only does every piece represent the whole and you change the whole when you change just one small piece of it, but the change is instantaneous. Every change is instantaneous, not just for the individual aspect of your life that you focus on in the moment but your entire life.

Every sweet, small step you take in one area of your life instantly shifts every part of your life. That’s HUGE!

But there is one more exciting characteristic of the hologram that impacts you and me directly. According to Bohm, in a holographic universe, past, present, and future are collapsed together as measurements of time.

So, if you want to change your future, make the change in the now. The holographic principles give us hope and not of some distant, in-the-future life, but the life we are living right here and right now.
