Pamper Your Skin with Essential Oils!

Our skin is our largest organ and It’s exposed to toxins every day from the air that we breathe to the chemicals we expose it to. Did you know it only takes 26 seconds for our skin to absorb chemicals?? So why not pamper your skin with natural healing repairing bliss!

Essential oils are used in cosmetics, lotions, serums, cleansers, toners and so much more because they work from tightening, toning, soothing, pigmentation, acne, burns, blemishes, redness, fine lines, wrinkles and even some are known to preserve. According to an abstract, Commercial Essential Oils as Potential Antimicrobials to Treat Skin Diseases, published in Evidence-Based Complementary Alternative Medicine, there are over 90 essential oils are  known for skin!

“Essential oils are mostly used for the treatment of infections caused by bacteria, fungi, or viruses (total 62%). This is followed by inflammatory skin conditions (20%) such as dermatitis, eczema, and lupus and then general skin maintenance (18%) such as wrinkles, scars, and scabs, which are the third most common use of essential oils. Other applications include anti-inflammatory and wound healing applications. Of the 98 essential oils recommended for dermatological use, 88 are endorsed for treating skin infections, 73 are for bacterial infections, 49 for acne, 34 for fungal infections, and 16 for viral infections.”

So why not grab an oil or two to add to your skincare routine.

I love simple, so I grab my doTERRA natural verage skincare line (4 products) that was made for fine lines, wrinkles, pigmentation, soothing, nourishing, hydrating and repairing.

Verage Cleanser purifies and cleanses while the toner tightens and soothes. Then my number one favorite oil for my face, neck and décolleté is Myrrh. I use it every morning and night especially on the areas of concern. In the Bible Myrrh was used for skin issues, treating wounds and beautification treatments. Egyptian women would wear waxy cones of myrrh over their head and as the day got hotter it would melt the mixture coating their face and body for protection and healing.

My number one favorite oil for around my eyes is Helichrysum or neroli. These oils are so amazing, and studies show they are powerful for repair, antioxidant support as well as for inflammation.

Then if I need more hydration for the day I’ll add the verage serum and add a drop of blue tansy (a wise woman told me this trick), then follow up with verage moisturizer.

A natural skincare beauty routine can be simple and effective.  Research what oil would be best for your skin needs and remember your internal health reflects on your skin as well
