Move to Heal with ChakraDancer

Our bodies are designed to move. When viewing the inner makeup of the human body, you see how it is designed for movement.  And, like breathing, movement fills us with energy.  It balances, heals and awakens the energies and this includes our energy centers or chakras.

Chakras is a Sanskrit work meaning “whirling wheel of light.” Specific movements of the chakras give you insight into your healing.  Essential oils can enhance this healing practice providing you with greater energy and support.

Let’s explore each Chakra beginning at the base of the body with the Root Chakra. This chakra governs your legs, feet and base of the body. Move your feet to activate this chakra. Inhale tree oils like copaiba or cedarwood to ground and balance you.

Get your sacral center moving with hip bumps and hip circles.  These are great to keep you strong and flexible in the lower back. Add orange oil on your lower belly to amp up your moves!

Your solar plexus chakra lies at the lower end of your rib cage.  This correlates with the area of digestion.  Practice a chewing motion with your upper abdominal muscles.  Like a mouth or an eye opening and closing.  This is great core work! I like using the oil of peppermint as a spritzer on my belly which can be very cooling.

Your heart center is located in the middle of your chest and governs the chest area, shoulders and arms.  So opening up the front of the chest with the arms reaching back opens the front of the heart center and then giving yourself a hug with the chin tucked opens up the back of the heart center.  It is a nice stretch in areas where many of us hold tension. Place lavender oil over this chakra to deepen your experience.

Your throat center is at the base of your neck and can be stimulated with head movements like yes and no. Consider adding clove oil on a tissue and inhaling as you move. Clove oil has a history for oral health.

Your brow center is in the middle of your forehead and we can use hand and eye movements to activate this center. Lemon oil on your hands brushing this area is very clearing to the mind.

Your crown center is located at the top of the head.   Do a tapping motion on the top of your head or a head massage to stimulate this center. Use frankincense or other spiritual oil with these movements to open and connect this chakra.

Moving your chakras and adding aromatherapy will guide you to learn how to live and be in your body where the magic and wisdom will support you in all aspects of life.
