Walking Away Can Be Good For Business

I know it’s hard to walk away from potential business. But what if I told you that walking away can actually help you grow? Don’t believe me? Well, hang in there. I’m going to explain what I mean.

No matter how old, or young your business is, it can be scary to say no to a potential customer. After all, you need the revenue, don’t you? Maybe not.

Some customers are difficult. They actually take you away from growing your business. So, yes, you have revenue. But not as much revenue as you could have.

Let me ask you a question – what do you want?

Do you want money, or success? They aren’t the same thing. If you want success embrace the idea of being selective. Think about what a great customer looks like. What is a home run?

Got the picture in your head? Okay, great!

Now, whenever you are in the discovery conversation your responsibility is to evaluate what you are learning against what you want. If there isn’t synergy, you might need to walk away. The question becomes – how out of sync are they? If alarm bells are going off, don’t just walk – run! Don’t try to convince yourself that they can be a good customer. They can’t!

Keep looking for those home runs. Now, you can engage with a prospect that misses one or two connectivity points. Everyone isn’t going to be the ideal client.  You’re just trying to steer clear of the awful ones.

When you decide to commit to a strategy like this, your business will grow; you will be successful. So, give it a try! And if you want some help with this, reach out. Go to www.seizethisday.co and schedule a free consult.

And as always, remember to seize THIS day.
