The Business World Is In Serious Trouble

The Business World

Turn on your computer, open LinkedIn or your Facebook news feed and what do you see?  Another data breach, another healthcare organization with millions of exposed patient files, another city government shut down because of a ransomware attack.  The business world is under attack and on the edge of serious trouble.

Can it be fixed? Absolutely.  It takes commitment and training.

This month’s article is a step in a different direction.  Instead of my cheery and happy approach, I want to drive home this serious issue and show how the Cloud can help.

Cybersecurity risks are serious. I’m not going to sugar coat this. It’s time for business owners, accounting firms, law offices, local and state governments, and healthcare organizations to wake up and smell the cybersecurity coffee.  Cybercriminals are brewing up a storm, and we must make sure that our defenses are in place to protect your business, and most importantly, the livelihood of everyone you employ and their families.

Let that sink in.  A data breach or cybersecurity event doesn’t just hit your business. It hits your employees, their families, their communities… it goes deeper than just a ransomware attack.  The trickle-down effect can extend very deep into all of our communities.

How do you defend your organization?

  1. Invest in cybersecurity training for yourself and all of your staff. Do this no less than once a month and conduct regular tests to ensure they know what to look for.
  2. Invest in the right services. Don’t go cheap because you want to save a few pennies.  The right endpoint and perimeter security solutions aren’t inexpensive, and they must be considered an investment.
  3. Get cyber liability insurance. It just makes sense.
  4. Move your IT infrastructure to the Cloud.

Point 4 is super important. It’s been proven, over and over again that the Cloud is more secure than the best on-premise server solutions.  Why? It’s quite simple… cloud service providers like ours at CPU know how to secure IT. We’ve been trained, we know what the right tools are, and our business is built on the reputation of ensuring that our clients’ information is 100% secure.

Do what’s right for your business and make the investment in cybersecurity and the Cloud.  Keep your staff’s futures protected, and your business off the front page news and out of someone’s LinkedIn or Facebook newsfeed.  Learn more at cloudservicesformsps.com.
