SOAR TO SUCCESS / Feature Article 1. Use positive self-talk morning to bedtime. -- Regardless of what is going on in the outside world, keep your internal dialogue positive: -- “This will be another good day for me” -- “I’mmaking a positive difference in someone’s life today” 2. Find something good in all your personal relationships. -- If you look for the good in others, they most likely will reflect good back to you and others. -- Say something uplifting to everyone you meet 3. Focus on what is positive & right with the world. -- Don’t become a victim of the “bad news sells” cycle. -- Limit your media involvement on a “need to know basis” and seek out that which promotes progress and positive actions to be taken. 4. Look at problems as opportunities. -- Reframe “problems” as motivating challenges to be solved. -- Virtually every major invention was to fill a need, rather than make money 5. Learn to stay relaxed and friendly no matter how much tension you’re under. -- Slow your breathing and relax your muscles (particularly in your face). -- Making a few minor physical changes will alter your outlook, and vice-versa. Focus on the positive aspects of your health. -- Your body takes its cues from your mind, so continually reinforce what IS healthy in you, right now. -- Dwell on your desired state of wellness 7. Project your own healthy condition to others. -- Rather than complain about all the aches, pains and ailments your currently have, try ONLY speaking about how good you feel. -- Talk about the proactive steps you are taking and your daily improvements 8. Remind yourself of all your blessings throughout the day. -- There is ALWAYS something to be grateful for in any given moment of our day. -- If you can’t think of any, just remember – “I’m ALIVE.” 9. Associate with people who have positive attitudes and fuel your optimism. -- Be wary of the pity partiers and group gripers – stay clear! -- Seek out the people who make you feel better about yourself and your life. 10. Just before you go to bed, give thanks for another day well-lived. -- Never, ever go to bed after watching the news or anything negative or violent, as your unconscious mind will continue to percolate this while you sleep. -- Listen to soothing music, read something inspirational, meditate or just say “thank you” and feel grateful.
